Mares and geldings four years old and over must be registered as an adult pony in the BCPS Stud Book or the Stud Book of a recognised Connemara Pony Society. Animals must be registered as Class 1 or Class 2.

These classes are qualifiers for the Tam O'Shanter Championship - sponsored by Eastern Connemara Group. The three highest placed yearling, two year old, three year old and the highest placed mare, will qualify for the Tam O'Shanter Championship finals to be held at the British Connemara Pony Society Breed Show 2023. Qualification cards must not be passed down lower than 6th place.

These classes are qualifiers for the NPS/Niart Stud M&M In Hand Summer Championship. Owners do not have to be NPS members to enter these classes but only ponies owned by NPS Qualifying or Life Members can qualify for the final. The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. To receive qualification owner's membership cards must be shown in the ring.
